2015 in review

2015 went by quickly, quicker than I can ever remember a year going. Maybe that's just something that happens as you age. This past year brought me to places expected and anticipated but also places  that I never imagined both personally and professionally. 

I started 2015 by freezing my ass off with my best friend while waiting to see the North Lights in Iceland. I photographed two weddings for friends along side my boyfriend. I had the time and money to continue to work on a personal project. In October I went to the Eddie Adams Workshop. I got offered a job at a paper that I aspired to work for. And for the past 11 and half months I photographed a bus driver who spent more than half her life driving kids to and from school, the Great Lakes Loons spring training in Arizona, the first a gay couple to get married in Midland County, Donald Trump speaking to crowds in Birch Run, a young girl raising lambs for the first time to show in 4-H and countless high school sports.

December favorites

December was a busy in the sense that the holidays made everything crazy with people being off from work and trying to cover all of the events that annually happen in a small community. I had fun shooting basketball and wrestling. I think winter sports might be the preps sports that I enjoy the most. And of course Star Wars: The Force Awakens brightened up my evenings. The past month also allowed for some time to do the leg work behind setting up potential story. This year I'm hoping to do 2-3 longer stories. So far 2 of them are looking like they'll be going in the right direction. Half the battles with working on a story is just getting people to understand what you're trying to do. My next post will be my favorite photos from 2015, as always thanks for looking.

November

November went by quickly, it's hard to believe fall sports are over and winter ones have begun. I covered a little bit of everything this month from pumpkin trebuchets and adoption day to a soldiers funeral and a vow renewal for a couple on their 43rd wedding anniversary. The variety each day offers is what makes working for a daily community newspaper fun. Thanks for looking.
