My first shoot with the Sisters

I'm starting a new story on four nuns in Saginaw. They aren't like typical nuns. They don't wear habits nor are they teachers. They prefer to work in their communities. For this story I haven't figured out what I want to show. There are many aspects to the sisters like the community they have with themselves, with the different parishes they work in, and then show that this is path that not many young people are taking and how that effects an aging religious community.

Spring Sports Start

While I enjoy shooting basketball I was very excited that sprig sports started this week. Mostly because it means I shoot at a low non-noisy ISO and still shoot at a high shutter speed.

I'm a little bummed that I missed a cool photo, girl sliding into 3rd base with an arm stretched out to tag the base, luckily this is only the start of the season.

New Singles?

I've been trying to re-arrange my singles in a way that doesn't follow a formula. So often I catch myself trying to ensure that I have sports action, spot news, and features within my singles that I worry my singles don't represent a single photographer. So now I'm working towards trying to determine a way to have unique and different singles that all look like they were shot by the same person.

The last two images were from stories I shot while in school. Though the stories didn't come all the way through I think the photos might work as singles.

Fans and Celebrating

Tonight I got to photograph a girls basketball district championship game. The team expected to win didn't and they only lost by 2 points. Even I was getting tense and I wasn't playing or loyal to either team.

Here's the winning team celebrating and the fans of the losing team.
