I started 2017 still working at the Midland Daily News but by March the paper made many decisions that changed the culture of the paper. The photo staff was cut from three to one, two editors lost their jobs, the printing operations were moved to a facility an hour away and the press was sold. I finished the first half of the year in Midland and later moved to Jasper, Indiana where I now work as a staff photographer. The Herald was always a paper I wanted to intern at and never got the chance to. Here are some of my favorite photos from the year. Thanks for looking.
