The start of a new year didn't change much in terms of the types of assignments I shot for the paper. I still covered winter high school sports and the occasional weather features when we actually got snow. I think it's the cyclically pattern of community newspaper work that can wear a photographer down. So I did try to switch up how I was shooting. I brought along the 400mm lens to shoot wrestling and basketball, sports which I normally reserve the 70-200 and 50 for. It was awkward and still is but I think it's helping and hopefully I'll get better at keeping my frames cleans and not awkward cropping body parts out. Thanks for looking.
