Tableaux Portraits

In Natchez there is a month in which the whole town is filled with tourists who come from all over the world to see the antebellum homes and learn about the history of the oldest town on the Mississippi. Part of the history lesson is the Historic Natchez Tableaux, a performance put on four times a week for four weeks in the spring. Teenagers and children are the main participants and I wanted to work on shooting portraits and decided to take the photos of the kids inside their rooms wearing their costumes.

Here's a link to the story I wrote: http://www.natchezdemocrat.com/2014/04/06/one-month-each-year-miss-lou-children-live-in-past-present/
