I tried to keep my selection to 10 but that proved to be a little hard. So here are my top 15.

Chicago

This past weekend I visited Chicago and got to see some of the sights like the Shedd and Millenium Park. I only brought one lens with me, my 50 mm and it was a unique experience to have to work around a 50mm. At first I complained that it wasn't wide enough but then I decided to just move my legs got some practice using a longer fixed lens that I tend to forget about. Here's some of my stuff from the Shedd.

Boys Basketball

Boys move a lot faster than girls do in this game. I also think that basketball might be my new favorite sport to photograph. There is always something going on. I only wish the newspaper had a strobe kit because I would really like to try and light a game.

Girls BBall

I had only one quarter of a basketball game to shoot when I thought I had the whole game. Sometimes I think this is good practice it forces me to shoot and think faster. I do wish I had more time for this game though it was one of the better basketball games I've seen.

Google yourself

When I send out photos to AP I never really know where they will be used. So today I googled my name and found that a couple of places were using my photos...and giving me credit! Very exciting!

Court Verdict and a Mural

Today I went to court for the reading of the final verdict on a young man who was shot to death back in Dec. of 2010. The two defendants were found guilty of all charges.

Here is the young man's family.

I later got to go photograph high schoolers painting murals in a local elementary school.

Lego Tournament

Beer and Basketball

Today when I walked into the newsroom I saw an old man running with a magician's hat. Like Mickey's from Fantasia. My editor's response was "go get him!". So I chased after this man and stumbled upon a group of around 30 runners who run from bar to bar and ultimately race down stairs on their butts. I later shot a girls basketball game. I think it was a good day.
